It is a disturbing biography. Books helped her escape into an imaginary world allowing her to overcome the pitfalls she was thrown into, as well as her displacements from Poland, from France, from Belgium. and finally in Israel.
Therese Malachy-Krol, professor emerita, has taught French Literature and Theatre Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem for over forty years. She has published five books, numerous articles, and a personal memoir of the Holocaust dedicated to her parents. She has also directed a number of plays for the stage.
